Devious Journal Entry

Sun Jun 12, 2005, 12:38 PM
I'm busy writing drafts of the script for my next film "The Supreme adventures of Spiral Burping Boy". It'll go into production at the end of this month, and this time I'm lucky enough to have a small crew of animators assisting me.

The characters in the film will be drawn in 2D, while the environments will be 3D, but rendered flat.

As I did with Going Up, I've made a DA account for the film, where you'll be able to see concept sketches, character designs, renders of the environments and drafts of the script as I finish them. This account is: [link]

I want to see Going Up. How might that be done, exactly?

Contractions make the apostrophe seem so much more philanthropic, as it uses its efforts to unite rather than to hoard.

Who've I animated for? Hehe. Well.. me, myself, and I. For the most part. I haven't really had an oppourtunity to do anything too major... as I have had no time (nor motivation) and my animation table is big and clunky and I have nowhere to set it up... let alone have a little area to work on stuff... though, when I /do/ do something, the end result is usually quite satisfactory.

Yeah, I do kinda hate the 3d stuff XD Hehe. I guess it's like that with most classical animators, even though I'm forcing myself to learn it because of the current job market.

After 2 years at college studying peices of art and crap, I'd be worried if I didn't instinctually start to analyze things. I'm glad that I was able to figure it out accordingly and not make an ass of myself >n_n<;; (Personally, I think those years of college were a waste, cause I really didn't get to do what I wanted to do... which was animate)

And I live in BC, Canada. I'd /love/ to get a DVD with the finished product and your other works. How'd you come up with this perticular film, anyhow? What was your inspiration?
:iconfrightenedboy:
this is an amazingly good work and you fully deserve all the praise you have got from this. I'm interested: did you get any inspiration from an advert by the singapore version of the samaritans, it has a similar style and setting, but the story is different. if not and you're interested to see, note me or sommat. also: i would love to see this animation. how much would you want to send me a dvd (i live in the uk). if you would, note me with how much and i'll send you a cheque.
thanks very much, and well done again.
:iconalinnia:
lol!

I had seen you had left a comment, and I had to wonder if I had written anything... as it turns out, I didn't... but I guess I should XD

I saw the little featured deviation and I went and took a peek at it because the description contained the words 'surreal' and 'horrific'. I wasn't disappointed at all by the script. Infact, I thought it was /quite/ horrific. Especially the part with the dogs. And the numbers painted on the elevators. It has a definate 'Twin Peaks' feel to it. I also love the 'statement' you make (whether concious or subconcious) about the obsession of work and daily routine.. workaholicisim and the entire thought of... business and structuralisim... and how people choose, if subconciously in itself, that of an overly structured and dominant society. But anyhow. I'm rambling.

Good job with the animation! X3 I'm an animator, as well, actually. Though, I'm a classical animator. I'm not as well-versed in stop motion. I'd /love/ to see this film complete, though. Keep working hard!
The workaholicism thing, and how people should break out of that is the main thing I wanted to say with the film. It's really cool to know that some people are getting it.

Where do you live? Maybe I could mail you a DVD with Going Up and my other stuff on it.
